After the Eclipse

After the Eclipse

release

This is colored pencil drawing I did right after the solar eclipse. There was a huge amount of energy around this event which primarily occurred in the continental US.  I was attempting to capture the feeling of a release of collective energy.  This drawing is titled Release.  All images are copyright ©2017 by Gail Tracy, and can only be used by permission.

I have always wanted to do a “doodle a day” but it seems there is always something that gets in the way.

My new moto is “Just DRAW.”

Death of a Blog

Death of a Blog

I started my first blog back in 2011, and after 4 years I had a lot of original content that I had accumulated.  I discovered how old it can look in just a couple of years even with making at least a couple of posts per month.  I did great for the first three years, but by the 4th year I just ran out of time and inspiration to keep it fresh and keep it interesting. Then the unthinkable happened: after doing some changes on the blog, I had killed it, and it looked like it was going to take a lot of work to bring it back.  Technical kablooey!!  Bye bye, Miss American Pie…

pen and ink1rOh well, I didn’t cry.  I just knew that it was time to start all over again.  So, here I am!

I’ve decided to take a less serious approach, and wanted to get back to where it all started from:  fine art. Yes, as I remember it, it all started at the age of 5.  After having gone to the circus with my dad and brother, all I could do for a year was draw pictures of the circus.  I had discovered my first art theme.

The best way to get started is to be spontaneous in the moment.  A sketch a day keeps the doctor away…
